Reasor's Celebrates 50 Years
Larry Reasor opened his first store in Tahlequah, Okla., on June 3, 1963, with two simple yet effective ideas in mind: put customers first and sell customers the items they want to buy. Fifty years later, Reasor's is now an employee-owned company with 17 full-service supermarkets and two convenience stores/gas stations in the northeast Oklahoma market.
The company continues to thrive on the value proposition based on Reasor's initial vision, "Experience the difference through quality, variety, freshness, innovation and service all at the right price."
"We strive to carry on the ideals set forth by my father in that small grocery store in Tahlequah all those years ago – a focus on you, the customer, with the products you want, in the type of place you don't mind shopping," says Jeff Reasor, Larry's son and chairman and CEO of the company.
Reasor's is continually introducing new programs to benefit its customers. Two recent additions include the Reasor's Rewards loyalty program as well as the NuVal Nutrition ranking system. Additionally, Reasor's is expanding its selection of private-label products, prepared meals and restaurants at two locations.
Reasor's, which has 3,000 employees, also offers bakery, deli with hot and cold foods, a meat counter, a floral department, a well-staffed pharmacy and a produce department with a wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables.
The regional supermarket chain began celebrating its 50 years of excellence with special events that began May 1 and will continue throughout the summer. A full list is available on the store’s Facebook page. Promotions include:
