Giant Eagle Deploys Workforce/Execution Management Solution

PrintGiant Eagle Deploys Workforce/Execution Management Solution

Giant Eagle, Inc. has deployed a new labor modeling and planning system across its supermarket banners and convenience stores to more accurately plan, execute, and manage store tasks across the retailers variety of formats and store configurations.

The grocer is using Southlake, Texas-based Logile’s Enterprise Labor Model (ELM) and Enterprise Execution and Compliance Management (EC5) solutions. Logile’s ELM solution expands Giant Eagle’s labor modeling capabilities by providing a web-based system to dynamically manage its store-specific fixed activities, characteristics, department profiles and volume drivers.

“Logile’s solution has enabled us to empower our store leaders with greater ownership and customization of the fixed activities and characteristics in their stores,” said Dan May, Giant Eagle’s SVP of supply chain and Giant Eagle business systems. “The dynamic nature of our business and the often changing physical layouts of our stores make it necessary for us to have an equally dynamic modeling system. The Logile system allows our Store Leaders to better plan for and execute the activities needed to maintain their departments and deliver world-class customer service.”

"Logile’s track record of integrating with existing workforce management tools was paramount in Giant Eagle’s decision to engage them," said May. “The Logile solution complements our engineering approaches, existing systems and our overall strategy towards in-store execution.  We like the possibilities the Logile systems offer and will continue to explore the robust opportunities associated with the technology.”

Giant Eagle operates 230 supermarkets and 179 fuel and convenience stores throughout western Pennsylvania, north central Ohio, northern West Virginia and Maryland.
