PrintBottom Dollar to Open 7 Stores

Discount grocer Bottom Dollar Food plans to open an additional seven stores in the greater Pittsburgh and Youngstown, Ohio, markets next week on February 9.

"We are very pleased with customer reaction to the first Bottom Dollar Food stores that we opened recently in the greater Pittsburgh area," said Bottom Dollar Food president Meg Ham. "We look forward to opening an additional seven stores in the greater Pittsburgh and Youngstown, Ohio, communities this week, bringing a new grocery option to consumers. Customers will find Bottom Dollar Food unique because we offer unbelievably low prices, carry quality private brands and the national brands that matter most, and offer a meaningful, efficient assortment of fresh produce and meat. Additionally, our associates provide our customers an energetic and lighthearted shopping experience."

Thursday’s grand opening festivities will begin with 7 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremonies at each location, and the stores will open to the public immediately after the ceremony. Former professional football players will sign autographs and greet customers from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the new locations.

With a strong focus on price, Bottom Dollar Food has a "We Won't Be Beat" guarantee, where stores will beat any competitor's price on the same item by a penny. In addition, if a customer is unsatisfied with a purchase, all meats and produce come with a double-back guarantee that ensures an item is replaced and customers are given a full refund. Bottom Dollar Food also offers a double-money back guarantee on all private brand products.

Bottom Dollar Food opened its first seven stores in the greater Pittsburgh area on Jan. 26. The discount grocer announced the expansion last year and created more than 800 jobs through the new store openings in January and February. Bottom Dollar Food provides fresh produce and quality meats, pre-packaged deli and bakery items, a variety of dairy selections, the most popular national brands along with a large selection of quality private brand products.

"From the hundreds of new associates we have joining our team, to the new customers we'll win when they save money on groceries, we look forward to continuing to grow our business and being a good community partner in these markets," added Ham.

Following the grand openings, Salisbury, N.C.-based Bottom Dollar Food will operate 43 stores in three states – Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ohio.
