Delhaize Upgrades Fleet Performance Management Tools for U.S. Operations

PrintDelhaize Upgrades Fleet Performance Management Tools for U.S. Operations

By Joseph Tarnowski

Delhaize America has upgraded its fleet performance management tools across its Food Lion, Hannaford, and Sweetbay Banners to maximize its fleet performance and service using just one common technology platform.

The retailer is using Minneapolis-based XATA Corp.’s XATANET on 780 trucks, which serve 1,500 stores across 16 states in the eastern U.S. The system will allow Delhaize to better track speed performance and driver behavior and to access driver, vehicle route, and delivery information in real-time.

According to XATA, Delhaize will also use its Fleet Performance Management (FPM) solution, a planning, visualization and analytic tool developed to provide expanded insight into key performance indicators and help drive performance of fleet-related business objectives. Delhaize will implement a set of Fleet Scorecards available in XATA FPM to enable executives, managers, supervisors, and even drivers to visualize their performance, understand any underlying issues through drill-down analysis, and react appropriately.

Salisbury, N.C.-based Delhaize America operates 1,500 stores in 16 states under the banners of Food Lion, Bloom, Bottom Dollar, Harveys, Hannaford Bros., and Sweetbay.
