Mexican food brand Tornados has launched “Flavor Challenge 2.0,” a Facebook-based promotion in which its 130,000-plus fans can submit flavor ideas in eight categories and vote on their favorites.

The flavor with the highest rating in each category will be named a “Flavor Champion,” and its entrant will win a year’s supply of Tornados and a Tornados-wrapped microwave. One grand prize entry may even see his or her face on a Tornados box, should the flavor be developed, said the brand’s manufacturer, Dinuba, Calif.-based Ruiz Foods.

The eight flavor categories in which submissions can be made are Asian Fusion, Backyard BBQ, Kick-It Up (Spicy), American Classics, Teen Snack Attack, Around the World, Early Bird (Breakfast) and Sweet Tooth (Dessert).

Tornados Facebook fans can rate and comment on flavors entered, and, in doing so, will earn points redeemable for prizes in the Tornados prize vault, including the “Experience of a Lifetime Raffle” of a VIP racing-themed trip for two to Charlotte, N.C., including the Richard Petty Driving Experience; virtual badges; T-shirts; and an etched I-Pod.

Accessible at www.facebook.com/Tornados, top-rated flavors across all categories as of press time include The Bacon Cheddarburger, Country Scramble Tornados, Cheesy Chicken and Rice, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Cheesburger Tornado!, Grilled Chicken & Cheese, Caramel Apple, Pepperoni pizza tornado!, Chili Cheddar Potato Wrap, and Hash Brown Omelet Deluxe.
