Tops Markets, LLC has hired Diane Colgan to be its VP of sales development and marketing. In her new role, Colgan is responsible for the direction, control and coordination of Tops’ core marketing functions, including brand management, advertising, loyalty and interactive marketing, and community and public relations.
“As we adapt and respond to the ever-changing needs of our customers, especially during this challenging economic time, our goal is to continue to deliver on our promise to provide a wide variety of products at a great value,” said Tops president and CEO Frank Curci. “Diane’s 20 years of marketing experience and her broad knowledge base in the grocery retail industry will undoubtedly make her an integral part of Tops’ future success.”
Most recently, Colgan headed the marketing efforts of Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co., Inc., a 115-store supermarket company based in Charleston, S.C. Before Piggly Wiggly, she was VP of marketing for Maudlin, S.C.-based Bi-Lo, LLC, which, like Tops, was once a division of Ahold. Colgan also held positions at Gerber Products Co. and Belk department stores.
Williamsville, N.Y.-based Tops operates 71 full-service supermarkets and five franchise supermarkets, and employs over 10,000 associates.
