WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. -- Ahold banners Tops Markets and Martin's Super Food Stores are once more offering the "Gas Extra Rewards" program to customers. The program launched earlier this month and runs through July 14, during which time shoppers can earn and redeem points for savings at the gas pump.
For every $100 spent at any Tops or Martin's locations using a BonusCard, customers will get 10 cents off per gallon of gas.
The program is also available at the Giant-Carlisle in Huntingdon, Pa. and Martin's stores in Connellsville, Duncansville, and Altoona, Pa., where for every $50 spent, customers will receive 20 cents off per gallon of gas.
"Our goal is to provide customers with the greatest value possible both inside our stores and at the fuel pumps," said Jodie Daubert, v.p. for general merchandise, health and beauty care, and fuel, in a statement. "Customers not only appreciate the convenience of on-site fuel, but welcome the savings, especially during times of high gas prices."
This year shoppers can now earn Gas Extra Rewards points on out-of-pocket expenses made at Tops/Martin's pharmacies. State and federally funded prescription plans such as Medicare, Medicaid and government funded programs are not included as required by law.
There's no limit to how many Gas Extra Rewards points a customer can earn, and each qualifying grocery dollar will be accumulated at the bottom of the grocery receipt as a Gas Extra Rewards point. Points that have been earned at participating stores without an on-site gas station can be redeemed at stores that offer gas.
Points can be earned through July 14 and can be redeemed any time until July 28. As in other Extra Rewards programs, Gas Extra Rewards promotions will be offered periodically throughout the year at participating stores. The discount can't exceed 30 gallons within one transaction, and only one vehicle can be filled up per transaction, because of safety issues. Customers also have the option of choosing to allow their Gas Extra Rewards points to accumulate for even more savings.
Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant-Carlisle operates stores in Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia under the Giant Food Stores, Tops Markets, Martin's Food Markets, and FoodSource banners.
