Natural and specialty foods distributor Tree of Life, Inc. has moved marketing exec Greg Leonard to the position of s.v.p., natural food sales.
Leonard, a 33-year veteran of the natural products industry, began his career at St. Augustine, Fla.-based Tree of Life in 1974; and until 1986 was responsible for the company's purchasing activity, including bulk foods.
In the mid-1980's, he transitioned from purchasing into a number of marketing roles, including v.p. of merchandising, where he supervised the development and marketing of Tree of Life's company-owned natural and organic brands.
During his career at Tree of Life, Leonard has contributed to the development of Tree of Life's marketing support programs and was responsible for the development and launch of Tree of Life's proprietary Smart Assortment Marketing Service, the company said.
Reporting to Leonard and responsible for leading the company's regional sales teams are v.p.'s of sales: Mike Weger - Midwest; Walter Hill - Southwest; Gary Messmore - Southeast; and Scott McNamara - Northeast.
Tree of Life serves customers throughout the United States and Canada. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Wessanen NV based in The Netherlands.
