    Facebook campaign spotlights premium ground beef for summer grilling

    Tyson Fresh Meats, the beef and pork business unit of Tyson Foods, Inc., is putting the spotlight on premium ground beef this summer with a Burger Universe promotion on Facebook. Centered on burgers for the grill, the promotion is generating consumer excitement about upgrading to Tyson Fresh Meats premium ground beef this summer through an opportunity to win a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood.

    Running through August 14, 2011, the Burger Universe promotion includes POS materials in supermarket retailers across the country directing shoppers to the consumer sweepstakes online. Consumers can enter the sweepstakes through the Burger Universe Facebook page for the chance to win a four day/three night trip for four people to Universal Studios Hollywood.

    The prize includes airfare, hotel accommodations, four (4) two-day tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood and $500 spending money. The promotion has generated interest from more than 400 fans within the first week of launching.

    “Summer is all about grilling out and having fun. We know our consumers love their burgers, and we are encouraging them to pick Tyson Fresh Meats premium ground beef to make their meals even better this summer,” said Kent Harrison, VP of marketing and value creation for the Dakota Dunes, S.D.-based Tyson Fresh Meats, whose premium grinds program includes Angus grinds, source grinds (round, chuck, sirloin), 91 percent and 93 percent.
