    Tyson Teams with Ruffles on Football-themed Promo

    Campaign also features Checkpoints mobile shopping app

    In tandem with football season, Tyson Foods Inc. is launching a promotion enabling shoppers to save on Wings, Boneless Wings, and Ruffles brand potato chips. “You Want Some of This” will roll out to about 8,000 stores nationwide.

    In-store coupons will save consumers $2 when they buy Tyson Wings or Boneless Wings from the deli department, along with Ruffles brand chips.

    “Frito-Lay is a natural partner for Tyson,” noted Eric Le Blanc, director of sales development for Springdale, Ark.-based Tyson Deli. “Consumers can easily enjoy Tyson wings and boneless wings and Ruffles brand chips at any tailgate party or football gathering.”

    The point-of-sale materials also feature a Checkpoints mobile application that lets shoppers scan a code with their mobile phones to amass points and receive such goodies as gift certificates, airline miles and electronics. “As an additional incentive, shoppers will be able to earn real rewards for visiting the deli,” said Le Blanc.
