As part of the launch at Natural Products Expo East 2010 of initiatives aiming to bolster buyer-seller relationships, natural and organic product distributor United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) will be the official distributor partner of the show.

The move helps Natural Products Expo return to “its historical roots as a selling show, offering retailers a strong financial incentive, in addition to extensive networking and educational opportunities,” noted UNFI VP of marketing John Raiche. “UNFI is contributing to show specials, resulting in larger discounts from an extensive list of suppliers for show attendees.”

“Our partnership with UNFI increases Natural Products Expo East exhibitors” ability to place their natural and organic products on the shelves of all natural and conventional retail outlets and into foodservice distribution nationwide,” added Fred Linder, president of New York-based New Hope Natural Media, which produces the annual industry event.

In addition to the partnership with UFI, changes to show include hosted events and education for niche communities within the industry, greater encouragement and promotion of on-site manufacturer specials, and targeted programs to lower exhibitor costs and enhance ROI.

The East Coast’s biggest trade show for natural, organic, and better-for-you products, Natural Products Expo East will take place at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, Oct. 13 through Oct. 16. More information is available by visiting www.expoeast.com.

Providence, R.I.-based UNFI carries and distributes over 60,000 products to more than 17,000 customer locations nationwide. The company serves a broad range of retail formats, including conventional supermarket chains, natural product superstores, independent retail operators and the foodservice channel.
