Unified Grocers Deploys NSF Check Processing Solution

Unified Grocers have tapped Oxford, Ohio-based Cash Flow Solutions to leverage its electronic recovery process for returned checks to ensure high levels of customer service.

Here’s how the process -- which Cash Flow Solutions calls BounceBack – works: Before NSF checks are re-presented to the customer’s account, BounceBack calls the bank to ensure funds are available. This process results in fewer check bounces which saves the check writer from multiple overdraft fees.

“BounceBack’s solution is designed to streamline retailers’ operations while reducing their check processing cost,” said Josh Hartinger, senior product manager for Los Angeles-based Unified Grocers. “The challenge was finding a payments provider whose business practices protect our retailers.”

Unified selected BounceBack check recovery to aid its retailers in managing costs without sacrificing customer loyalty. Cash Flow Solutions developed labor reducing services utilizing technologies to help retailers manage the collection process. The process helps retailers retain customer loyalty by allowing check writers to resolve their check debts instead of resolving bank fees, resulting in a higher rate of collection.
