LUBBOCK, Texas -- United Supermarkets here has launched VirtualStore, an online circular program from adplex, a Houston-based one-to-one marketing services firm. Additionally, United has extended its printing contract with the adplex, the grocer's exclusive print partner for circulars.
Adplex VirtualStore, a retailer-branded Web site implemented by grocers to maximize the effectiveness of their weekly circulars, is loyalty marketing tool that can help retailers increase sales and customer loyalty. Program elements include searchable weekly specials, streaming how-to videos, an online shopping list manager, on-line catering ordering, and a searchable, scalable recipe program.
"Our new adplex-powered Web site is completely guest-focused, offering in-demand functionality and information that keeps people coming back to our site day after day," said United c.e.o. Dan Sanders in a statement. "Our new online circular also allows us an unparalleled ability to fully leverage our loyalty marketing efforts, and we expect to see a major return on this investment."
"Adplex's VirtualStore is different from most interactive advertising circular initiatives because it is tied to our Promote product line, a powerful data-driven management and production engine base that houses customer preferences and streamlines the overall advertising production process," added adplex c.e.o. Galen Walters. "VirtualStore works with Promote to feed 'opt-in' permission-based registration data to drive customer preferences and make advertising and marketing content more relevant to the consumers."
Under the renewed print agreement between the two companies, adplex will provide United with end-to end print services, among them advertisement production services, photography, archiving, composition, and pre-press.
"Adplex has helped increase our relevancy with objective, measurable results in the marketplace," noted Sanders. "The company has delivered us a strong ROI and provided ways to collapse our time to market. adplex understands what grocers do every day, the challenges we face and how to apply their innovative products and services to help solve our problems and create opportunities."
United operates 46 grocery stores across west and north Texas under the United Supermarkets, Market Street and Super Mercado banners.
