Upstate N.Y. Pathmark to Host 2009 Kosher Fair -- Again

The annual event helps shoppers get ready for upcoming Jewish holidays with samples, demos, and other activities.

The Pathmark in Monsey, N.Y. will once again play host to the town's annual Kosher Fair, which takes place this year Sunday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. One of the largest kosher events in the region, the event showcases the best-known brands in the segment, including Streits, Osem USA and Manischewitz. Founded over 10 years ago, the Monsey Kosher Fair was established to help shoppers prepare for the Passover and Purim holidays by offering a variety of kosher food products.

During the event, several vendors will hold in-store demonstrations providing shoppers with tips on how to prepare holiday meals and the opportunity to taste items on display.

The Kosher Fair will feature a broad assortment of dairy, bakery and deli products, as well as meats.

Additionally during the event, there will be raffles of gift baskets containing kosher beverages, meats, condiments, snacks and baked goods.

Located in New York's upstate Rockland County, Monsey is the center of large community of Orthodox Jews, who strictly observe kosher dietary laws.

Pathmark is a division of the Montvale, N.J.-based Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., which operates 444 stores in eight states and the District of Columbia under such banners as A&P, Waldbaum's, Pathmark, The Food Emporium, Super Fresh and Food Basics.
