USC Marshall Names Kroger's Dillon Food Exec of the Year

CINCINNATI -- David Dillon, chairman/c.e.o. of The Kroger Co., will be honored as "Food Industry Executive of the Year" by the Food Industry Management Program at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business, at its annual graduation banquet in April.

"David Dillon has exemplified the managerial traits we inculcate in participants of USC Marshall's Food Industry Management Program," said Prof. Thomas Arnold, program director. "He has brought innovation, smarts and most of all, leadership to Kroger and to the entire industry. We're delighted to award him with our highest honor for his contributions to the food industry."

The award is presented annually to a food industry executive who has shown extraordinary leadership while producing exceptional business results.

USC's Food Industry Management Program at the Marshall School of Business is marking its 50th anniversary this year. Each year, 35 students are chosen from a wide range of companies in the food industry to participate in the elite training program. Participants must have proven records of management accomplishments with significant potential for future advancement.
