Vidalia Onions Pair with Corona to Sweeten 'Fiesta de Flavor' Produce Promo

The Vidalia Onion Committee has teamed with Corona, one of America's top-ranked imported beers, for Corona's "Fiesta de Flavor" fresh salsa and guacamole promotion.

Wendy Brannen, executive director of the Vidalia Onion Committee, said, "Combining the original sweet onion with beer, recipes, and coupons will reach a younger, more diversified audience." The promotion matches perfectly with the Vidalia season and is estimated to make 15 million potential consumer impressions, added Brannen.

The summer partnership will promote a chance to win a trip to Mexico through in-store Corona displays. Primary displays will be in retail beer, wine, and alcohol aisles this June through August. Participating stores will also have take-away pamphlets with sweepstakes entry details, along with salsa and guacamole recipes and coupons featuring Vidalia onions and the other produce partners.

Secondary displays for the produce department are available through Corona. In addition to Vidalia onions, other produce partners include limes, avocados, and tomatoes. Each of these items pairs well with Vidalia onions as a recipe ingredient.
