Wal-Mart said it is celebrating Hispanic Heritage month through a national campaign that provides information and resources for the pursuit of higher education.
At the same time, the retailer will launch a Spanish-language Web site to provide access to information about higher education and school funding. Online users will have find tools and resources like test preparatory, loan information, scholarships, and college applications.
Students and parents helped created the Web site, http://AhorraMasViveMejor.com.
The Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer will also feature several recent scholarship recipients who have received financial support from Wal-Mart in an advertising campaign. The scholars will also be featured in Wal-Mart's Viviendo magazine.
The company's foundation donated more than $67 million in the last year through company-sponsored scholarship programs and partnerships with groups like the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
