BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. has named the NPD Group, Inc. Syndicated Supplier of the Year in the Insights and Customer Strategy Department.
Through a collaborative effort, Port Washington, N.Y.-based NPD developed a customized Consumer Tracking Service for Wal-Mart and Sam's Club and for selected vendors doing business with the retailers.
The award recognizes NPD for data quality, partnership for consumer insights, and business planning.
NPD's Consumer Tracking Service for Wal-Mart and Sam's Club provides the retailers and their selected vendors with an extensive view of what's happening within and across categories, based on each retailer's consumer segmentation scheme, departmental structure, and geographic trading areas.
