The National Retail Federation (NRF) has elected six new members, including Bill Simon, president and CEO of Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart U.S. to its board of directors during the trade organization’s Retail’s BIG Show in New York. Each newly elected member will each serve a three-year term.
“These executives are among the top thought leaders in the world of retail and will only strengthen an already diverse and well-respected board,” noted Matthew Shay, president and CEO of Washington, D.C.-based NRF. “Their knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we address the many issues facing retailers at a time when our industry is rapidly changing.”
Besides Simon, the new board members are Beall’s CEO Steve Knopik, J.C. Penney Corp. Inc. CEO Myron “Mike” Ullman, SAP SVP and Head of the Global Retail Industry Business Unit Lori Mitchell-Keller; Tractor Supply Co. President and CEO Greg Sandfort, and Utah Retail Merchants Association President Dave Davis.
The elections took place on Sunday, the opening day of NRF’s 103rd annual convention and expo.
