Walmart Slashes Prices on Party Foods, Electronics

In anticipation of the Super Bowl on Feb. 1, Walmart has introduced price cuts on the most popular food and electronics purchases made at this time of year, including $50 to $100 Rollbacks on select HDTVs -- savings the retailer says can be used to buy a complete football party menu at its stores.

According to Walmart, its food savings will enable shoppers to put together a Game Time menu for 10 people for under $50. Among the bargains on offer are a Walmart Chicken Wing Basket for $8 average, or $5.24 per pound; a Walmart Fresh Vegetable Tray for $10; two DiGiorno 12-inch pizzas for $9.50; one 10-ounce bag of Ruffles potato chips for $2; a 16-ounce package of Nestle Toll House Cookie Dough for $2.48; and two two-liter bottles of Pepsi or Diet Pepsi for $2.

The Rollbacks apply to such top TV brands and sizes as a Samsung 32-inch LCD HDTV at $498 -- the same price as on Black Friday -- and a Sony 46-inch $1,298 HDTV, which includes a $100 bonus Walmart Gift Card with purchase.

Walmart is also offering the exclusive new Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Greatest Hits CD for only $10.
