    Wegmans Gauges Shopper Opinions on Sausage

    Survey determines attitudes to various types of fresh and fully cooked products.

    To decide what kind of fresh and fully cooked sausage products it should carry, Rochester, N.Y.-based Wegmans Food Markets yesterday sent out an Opinion Panel survey to subscribers to its e-newsletter.

    Questions included how often the products were purchased, and where; what participants' views on "healthy" sausage products were, and whether participants bought items with flavorings or added foods such as sun-dried tomatoes.

    As a thank-you to survey takers, Wegmans said it would randomly draw three names from the list of participants at the completion of the survey period, and give out three Wegmans $100 gift cards.
