    Wegmans Watches Customers’ Backs

New DVD part of range of yoga accessories available at Northeast grocer

A new DVD on basic back care from Stency Wegman, certified yoga teacher and wife of company CEO Danny Wegman, provides four 30-minute routines based on yoga practices that build strength and flexibility in core muscles that support the spine.

Stency Wegman, who has practiced yoga for more than 25 years and taught the discipline for five, was inspired to create the DVD after her own experiences with back pain. The easy-to-perform routines -- effective for all levels of fitness -- offer “good tools to use to have a stronger back,” she said. “In just 30 minutes every day or most days of the week, you can make a real difference in your life!”

This is the second instructional DVD from Stency Wegman. Her first, released a year ago, titled “Yoga 101,” includes two yoga lessons, each about an hour long, that build strength, flexibility and balance, and feature calming breathing exercises. Wegmans shoppers can buy “Yoga 101” and the new DVD separately for $14.99 each, or purchase them together as a package for $24.99.

As well as the DVDs, select Wegmans stores carry a selection of yoga accessories such as belts, blankets, blocks and bolsters, along with a new line of active wear from Stency Wegman.

Rochester, N.Y.-based Wegmans, a family-owned company, operates 81 stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland and Massachusetts.
