Weis Markets Elevates Regional VPs

Weis Markets, Inc. has promoted Jerry Hatch, Brad Kochenour and Mike Mignola to the newly created position of regional VP. Reporting to the Sunbury, Pa.-based grocer’s VP of operations, Jay Ropietski, the trio of new regional VPs will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of specific geographic clusters of Weis Market’s 164 stores throughout Pa., Md., N.J., N.Y. and W. Va.

Hatch, who will oversee stores extending from the regional retailer’s Sunbury, Pa., home base to Binghamton N.Y., previously was a regional director overseeing the company’s stores in northeast and central Pa. During his 26 year career, Hatch has worked as a department manager, store manager, district director and regional director.

Kochenour will oversee a region extending from Altoona, Pa., to Newton, N.J., which includes Harrisburg, Pa. and the Lehigh Valley. During his 35 year career, Kochenour has worked in food wholesaling and retailing, including roles as a department manager (perishable and non-perishable), store manager and district and regional supervisor. Prior to his promotion, Kochenour was regional director for Weis stores in Altoona, State College and Harrisburg, Pa.

Mignola will oversee Weis stores in Md. and W. Va., along with units in Lancaster and York, Pa. During his 29 year career, he worked as a store manager, deli and center store specialist ands regional director. Prior to his promotion, Mignola was GM for the grocer’s stores in Md. and W. Va.
