    Weis Spotlights Social Media On Redesigned Website

    Customer input paves the way for site improvements

    Heeding direct input from its customers via Facebook polls and on-line feedback, Weis Markets recently launched a redesigned homepage with more user-friendly navigation and a section containing its social media updates.

    The Sunbury, Pa.-based regional retailer’s new aggregator compiles all of its official social media outlets into a single, easy-to-read page, which in turn provides a quick overview of its latest Facebook posts with the number of fans and their pictures, as well as the latest tweets and YouTube videos

    “Customer input through social media helped us improve our site,” said Brian Holt, Weis Markets’ director of marketing. “Thanks to their input, we’ve made our site easier to navigate and added a new social media section that allows us to connect with our customers in a more personal way.”

    The improved navigation will make it easier for customers to purchase gift cards and party platters and refill their prescriptions. The site also contains a My Weis section for Weis Preferred Shopper Club members, a Healthy Living section where customers can submit food and nutrition questions to Weis Markets’ registered dietitians and an expanded Recipes and Meal section focusing on healthy cooking, meals for less and everyday recipes.

    Weis Markets currently operates 162 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and West Virginia.
