    Whole Foods Market Launches Mother’s Day ‘Best Picks’ Video, Contest

    Whole Foods Market will paying tribute to America’s mothers on their special day by sharing best product picks by moms for moms and hosting an online contest to help mothers everywhere pamper themselves all year round.

    “Master of the kitchen, Little League coach and adoring fan, patient tutor and unwavering counselor -- ‘mom’ is a multifaceted, 24-hour gig, seven days a week!” said Mara Fleishman, a Whole Foods Market team member and mother who imparts her her favorite products in the online video. “The only thing crazier than the job description is the fact that Mother’s Day comes only once a year. We hope to inspire appreciation for moms not just on Mother’s Day, but every day.”

    Through May 6, mothers may visit the Whole Story blog, where they can post comments about their favorite product for a chance to win a $100 Whole Foods Market gift card and Whole Foods’ exclusive FEED 100 reusable shopping bag, which helps provide 100 nutritious meals to school-age children in Rwanda via the United Nation World Food Program’s School Feeding Program. Online contest submissions can include a range of products, from those that make life easier for moms to those that mothers simply enjoy. The winner will be chosen by a panel of Whole Foods team member moms and posted in the Whole Story blog on May 8.

    To get the ball rolling on top mom-friendly picks, Whole Foods asked its associates who are mothers to provide ideas.     Among the spotlighted products are Whole Trade Roses, the purchase of which helps combat poverty, ensures healthy working environments and promotes Earth-friendly production practices in developing countries; Mineral Fusion Cosmetics, which provide UV protection and are paraben-free, talc-free and rich in antioxidants; and 365 Everyday Value Tandoori Naan, an authentic handmade Indian bread available in Garlic, Whole Grain and Original flavors.
