The two chains are among 10 named by Health Magazine.

Whole Foods Market and Safeway Inc are ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, on the list of  "America's Healthiest Grocery Stores" by Health magazine.

Other grocers on the list included Food Lion LLC, Hannaford Bros., and Harris-Teeter. To view the full list, visit http://living.health.com/2008/10/23/americas-healthiest-grocery-stores/.

To provide Health's 2008 rankings, a panel of six health experts reviewed the 35 largest food retailers across the country, and made their selections based many different criteria, including freshness of produce and availability of supplemental nutritional information. The magazine also emphasized that many of the grocers on its list are affordable retailers with convenient, close-to-home locations.
