Whole Foods Pushing "Value" in Fall/Holiday Guide

A recent Whole Foods Market survey found that 43 percent of adults now prepare more meals at home due to higher food costs.

Whole Foods Market is serving up Martha Stewart, coupons, and "budget conscious" recipes in its latest quarterly The Whole Deal value guide, available at stores.

The organic/natural grocer collaborated with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia as well as food bloggers on favorite recipes and cooking techniques for the guide. Specials, in an upscale vein, are also featured.

In the guide, Martha Stewart offers step-by-step instructions for pan-roasting chicken and roasting vegetables from her latest book in the first of Whole Foods' "Learn to Cook and You'll Learn to Save!" series.

The value guide includes 15 budget recipes for $4 or less per serving and 13 "Sure Deal!" high quality pantry items on special including organic soups, instant oatmeal, teas, hot cocoa mix, chardonnay and merlot. Holiday entertaining on a budget is featured in the guide with specials on crab claw meat and wine plus "party friendly" recipes.
