    Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. has introduced a line of private label organic yogurt aimed squarely at shoppers in search of products with added health benefits.


    Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. has introduced a line of private label organic yogurt aimed squarely at shoppers in search of products with added health benefits.

    The newest addition to the Jacksonville, Fla.-based grocer’s over 3,000-SKU-strong private label offering, Winn-Dixie Organic Active Yogurt contains both probiotics and prebiotics to aid digestion. The all-natural, kosher, USDA-certified organic yogurt further provides heart-healthy omega-3s and bone-building calcium and vitamin D, as well as 3 grams of fiber per serving. All varieties of the yogurt are low in fat and have 150 calories or fewer per serving. According to the company, no other retailer in its operating areas carries a yogurt line with all of the same health benefits.

    “We are always looking for new ways to provide healthy products for our customers,” noted Winn-Dixie group VP of marketing Mary Kellmanson. “Our organic line continues to expand with new products geared towards improving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.”

    Available in six-ounce containers in strawberry, blueberry, peach, vanilla and raspberry flavors, the yogurt, which rolled out over the past few weeks, is now available at all Winn-Dixie locations. The yogurt varieties retail for $1 each, although stores occasionally offer five for $4.

    Winn-Dixie operates 515 retail grocery locations, including more than 400 in-store pharmacies, in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi.
