Winn-Dixie Celebrates Passover
Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. has rolled out a Passover Celebration program to help make shopping more convenient for its customers who observe the holiday. The initiative involves three main components:
--All 520 of its stores are now carry key kosher products.
--Customers can get a free Passover haggadah (text read at the traditional seder, or Passover meal) at select locations.
--Select stores host kosher cooking demonstrations.
Among the kosher products now available at all Winn-Dixie stores are matzo, gefilte fish, macaroons, grape juice and memorial candles. Additionally, 130 stores have further expanded their kosher-for-Passover product selections.
“Passover is a momentous time of family gatherings and heartwarming meals,” noted Winn-Dixie director of communications Robin Miller. “We are pleased to offer kosher products in all stores to enhance our customers’ shopping experience and provide them with the necessary resources for planning a successful holiday meal.”
The demonstrations, which will feature cooking tips, recipes and coupons for kosher products, will take place march 19 through March 26 at stores in the south Florida communities of Jacksonville, Hollywood, Tamarac, Aventura and Boca Raton.
This year Passover begins at sundown on Wednesday, April 8 and ends at nightfall on Thursday, April 16.
