    Winn-Dixie to Deploy Price Optimization Solution

    Parent company Bi-Lo has had much success with the system

    Bi-Lo Holding, the Jacksonville, Fla.-based parent company of Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, has extended its business relationship with dunnhumby-owned KSS Retail to include price modeling and optimization services for the Winn-Dixie banner.

    “The KSS price optimization tool has strengthened Bi-Lo’s value message with consumers by focusing its pricing efforts on the right items and the right locations,” said Bruce Steadman, group VP of local merchandising and owned brands. “The combined company will leverage this success across both banners, further enhancing the customer experience and ensuring that customers are provided with the best possible prices on all the products they regularly purchase with us.”

    Winn-Dixie plans to leverage the KSS Retail optimization solution for modeling pricing and promotions to deliver greater value to customers, and to provide real-time modeling of regular and promotional pricing with the ability to look at pricing by price zones, as well as customer segments.

    Bi-Lo Holding operates 687 grocery stores and 493 in-store pharmacies -- under the Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie banners -- throughout the eight southeastern states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

    KSS Retail, a dunnhumby Company, provides price optimization and shopper insight solutions for the grocery, convenience, chain drug, general and online retail industries.
