Winn-Dixie, Fuel Rewards Network Program Join Forces

Great American Fuel Price Relief Tour kicks off in grocer’s hometown

In an effort to help shoppers save $1 billion on fuel, Winn-Dixie and the Fuel Rewards Network (FRN) program have launched the Great American Fuel Price Relief Tour in the Southeast regional grocer’s hometown of Jacksonville, Fla.

FRN, a program of Dallas-based Excentus Corp. that has already saved Americans nearly $100 million on fuel, will mark its first anniversary with several community events in the Jacksonville area through June 22 to kick off the national tour. By purchasing items at participating retailers, restaurants, online merchants and grocers including Winn-Dixie and its fuel loyalty program for Winn-Dixie Customer Reward cardholders, FRN members can earn cents-per-gallon savings redeemable at participating Shell-branded stations across United States and at other select fuel stations. Floridians are able to earn fuel rewards savings at Winn-Dixie locations across the Sunshine State just by linking their reward cards to an FRN account.

“The goal of our Fuel Rewards Network program is to reduce Americans’ everyday fuel costs by turning their shopping power into savings power through an easy-to-use rewards program,” noted FRN program founder and CEO Dickson Perry. “Through our partnership with Winn-Dixie, we’re one step closer to helping consumers save $1 billion just by shopping the way they normally do.”

As part of the tour, Jacksonville residents and Winn-Dixie customers can take part in such activities as “Spin to Save” wheels from which participants can receive anywhere from 5 to 20 cents-per-gallon fuel. At a private event that took place on June 18 at Winn-Dixie corporate headquarters on June 18, FRN donated $10,000 to the Bi-Lo Winn-Dixie Foundation.

Winn-Dixie is a subsidiary of Bi-Lo Holdings, the ninth-largest traditional supermarket chain in the United States. Under the Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie banners, the company employs nearly 60,000 associates at 686 grocery stores and 482 in-store pharmacies throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
