Winn-Dixie, Vendors Help Fund Free Mammograms for Underserved Women

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Winn-Dixie, in conjunction with several vendor partners, is launching a monthlong program that will donate $250,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and provide in-store visibility about the importance of early detection and the availability of help for those without proper health care support.

Winn-Dixie noted that while it's well known that early detection of breast cancer through self-examination and regular mammograms is critical to critical to winning the war against breast cancer, many women don't have the medical and financial resources that are key to this early detection.

The $250,000 donation from Winn-Dixie and its partners to NBCF will be used in Winn-Dixie's operating area and help fund free mammograms for those in need. Winn-Dixie will highlight the program and provide greater visibility for NBCF's services through an advertising and in-store program to spread the message about early detection and the availability of free mammograms.

The program, "Help for Today, Hope for Tomorrow," will be revealed in shelf talkers, in-store signage, and the company's circular advertising.
