BJ’s Debuts New Desktop Site

BJ’s Wholesale Club has launched a new desktop website to make it easier for members to research and purchase products, as well as manage their membership.

Along with researching and purchasing products, the site allows members access to BJ’s services – such as online deli and bakery ordering – so that orders can be placed and picked up in as little as 36 hours. It also will provide access to Pick Up & Pay to reserve select nonperishable products online for pickup in as little as two hours.

Rafeh Masood, SVP and chief digital officer of BJ’s, who joined the company in May, introduced the new site while speaking at the eTail East Conference in Boston. It follows the retailer’s new mobile site, which launched late last month.

“We’re making it more convenient for members to shop – and save – at BJ’s, whether it’s in-club, from their desktops or on their mobile devices,” Masood explained. “Omnichannel is an integral part of the company strategy, and the new desktop site is another step in our transformation.”

The new desktop site is the latest update in BJ’s strategy to deliver an integrated omnichannel experience. IT plans more announcements of digital offerings, from increased use of technology in its clubs to a new mobile app.

BJ’s Wholesale Club, based in Westborough, Mass., operates 215 clubs and 132 BJ’s Gas locations in 16 states.
