Nominations are now open for the Pinnacle Awards, which will be presented at the GMDC 2002 GM Marketing Conference, May 31-June 4, 2002 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

"Progressive Grocer is the leading source of information for nonfood department buyers and managers. GMDC puts GM buyers and suppliers together through their unique conferences and many educational efforts," says Bob Vavra, the magazine's nonfoods editor. "Last year?s award winners showed the strength of the general merchandise category in supermarkets, and we're excited to see what this year's winners have achieved."

The 2001 General Merchandise winners were SUPERVALU and Butler Home Products. According to GMDC President and CEO David T. It is an opportunity to showcase effective marketing solutions in our industry and recognize those responsible for their development and implementation."

Qualified nominees will be able to demonstrate how their category management programs excelled in three areas: Initiative, Leadership, and Innovation.
